The performer will teach students the components of the story and ask them to continue writing stories in their classrooms.  During the afternoon assembly the performer will perform stories written by the students.

Pencils and lollipops will be given to grades K through 2.  Pencils and popsicle coupons will be given to grades 3 through 5.
 

Children's Book Week is November 18-24.  RAL will give one book per day all week.  A name will be selected by lottery from a different grade level each day.  The first day we will give a book to a K student and First Grade Student.

We will have a Bookmark Creation Contest.  White strips of paper will be given to each teach by Nov. 8.  Bookmarks can have book titles and illustrations or can support reading.  Each teacher will select ONE winning bookmark from their room and submit it to Wendy Berman by Friday, November 15.  Prizes will be given.  During that week every student will receive a Readers are Leaders Button.
