The Trail of  the Painted People
MAGIC GIRL
 		      I named this person Magic Girl because she looks magical. 
    I put on music notes because I like to play the piano. 
    Almost everything on her is a design. I drew spirals on her because they are my favorite design.
    I like the faces on her because they make her look cute. She is wearing socks because I want her to be warm. I made a belt but she didn't need it.
    I picked these colors because they are every color of the rainbow. I colored most of her blue because it is my favorite color.
    I drew a lot of stars because they just look good.  She has magic for anything.
    I think she is very pretty.

SPORTS MAN     My name is Sports Man. I'm called that because I enjoy many kinds of sports.
    My favorite sport is soccer, because I love running and I'm pretty good at it. I'm aggressive and I do what my coach tells me to do.  Soccer also entertains me more than anything.
    Football is pretty fun too, because I can throw far, tackle hard and run the field fast.  Football needs strength, and I have that too.  I'm also in fit shape.
    My dogs are part of my personality too.  They make me laugh sometimes. I get mad at them because they bark too much. Their names are Sherman and Duke.  They also protect me.
    Music sometimes makes me sad and happy. Most of the time I lip-synch the songs.
    When I race someone when I'm swimming, I beat them.  The only person I can't beat is my sister.
    My name fits me because of all the sports I play.

WEIRD PERSON      This is Weird Person.
 I put the color red on him, because I like it and I like fire, especially the way it moves.
      I put the color brown because Kyle Brown is one of my friends.
 I like the color gold because I want gold, and because I have a gold necklace. it is 14K gold.
      I put the color pink because I liked the pink Power Ranger when I was very little.
      I like the color silver because that color is cool and because I want a GameBoy -- the Pokemon Silver version.
      I like the color blue because one time I was coming to school walking and I saw a cloud bunny in the sky.
      I like the color turquoise because when it is Wednesday if you wear turquoise, and Mrs. Newman sees you, she will give you candy.
      I put the color yellow because I like lemons and the way they make your face all smooshy.
      And that's the story of Weird Person.

HEART GIRL       This person is named Heart Girl.
    I picked the color raspberry for heart, and that is where I got the title.
    I put on seven stars, one for each member of my family.
    I drew the bluebird because I love the outside. It is beautiful.
    I put water because I like to swim. I get cool.
    I put on some orange because I do not like it.
    I put some spaghetti because it is my favorite food.
    I drew the sky because, again, I like it outside.
    I put a palace because I like palaces.
    I put a flag because I am glad we live in a free country.
    I put a heart on her face because, of course, her name is Heart Girl.
    I put a rainbow because I love rainbows and rainbows are so pretty.
    I put on a feather because I LOVE Indians.
   And that is why I named her Heart Girl.

COLORS OF THE WIND    The man that I made has  lots of swirls on him, because when I see the leaves swirl I think about when I was in Arizona where there were beautiful colors.  He is variegated.  Trees bend over when they see him.  Here is his legend:

    The legend begins with a very poor farmer. He went to the wool shop, where he saw a pair of socks. They were covered with a coating of gold with silver dots.
     He paid for the socks and when he put them on, all his body turned many colors.  He felt bad because the pair of socks cost all the money he had.  But when he got home, chunks of gold fell on him.  With his last bit of strength, he threw the socks up into the clouds.
     And that is why we have rainbows!

SPIRAL GUY     Once upon a time there was a guy named Spiral Guy. He lived in a valley with tons of spirals. Spiral Guy called the valley Spiral Valley.
 Spiral Valley had a river, and Spiral Guy called it Spiral River. Spiral River is like the Mississippi River, only it has more loops and spirals. Anything in Spiral Valley, you name it, was a spiral.
     But one day, Spiral Guy found something that was not a spiral. He took that something home with him that night and looked it up in his Spiral Dictionary, but of course the something was not in there.
     So he went to the closest village. They told him it was a "rock."  Spiral Guy didn't know what to do, he had been born with spirals.  So Spiral Guy went to another valley and was never seen again.

     The colors on Spiral Guy describe me because they are my favorite colors and they are pretty.

ARROW HEAD       I made my guy to make art. My guy's name is Arrow Head.
       He is the brother of Weird Person and Money Man.
       This is the legend of Arrow Head.
       Once upon a time, there was an arrow head, and suddenly it grew into a person. The person wandered into the forest. He walked over the bridge and went swimming in the lake. When he went over the bridge, he met a grumpy old troll.
       The grumpy old troll said, "If you don't solve this riddle you won't get across."
       The grumpy old troll's riddle was, " Who can jump higher than the mountains?"
       Arrow Head thought, "Let's see...yes, I can, because mountains can't jump!"
       "You have solved my riddle! Now you can cross."
       So Arrow Head walked across into the rest of the forest.
       I picked his name because his heart is made out of an arrow head. I put the yellow in there because it is my favorite color. I put an arrow head in there because it is my favorite thing to touch.

  MONEY MAN      This man is rich.  Did I say rich? I meant FILTHY rich.  This man is made of money!
     His head is $1,000.00. His arms are $1,000,000,000,000.00.  His legs are $1,000,000.00, his chest is made of two $1,000,000.00 bills and his belly is twenty-three $100.00 bills.
     When I see green I think of grass, and when I think of grass I think of water and I get thirsty.
     When I think of money, I think I am going to be rich.  I wonder if I I'll be rich enough to buy a mansion.  What if I am rich enough to not have a job?  If I don't have a job, will I be lazy?  If I'm lazy, then I'll be a bum.
     I'll have a toy store and call it "Toys We Be." It would be all mine, and I would be showered in toys.
     If I had a lot of money I'd have a lot of video games. I play them because they are fun. I would also buy new video games.
     That's why I want to be rich!
