CLASSROOM TRANSFERS

ADO's philosophy is that every child needs to develop the ability to a changing society and to the different personalities in that society. Based on this philosophy, parents who perceive their children to be having problems in a particular classroom need to follow this specific procedure.

STEP 1
The current teacher and parent will hold a conference to identify concerns, establish communication and take positive steps to address areas of concern. It is recommended that written documentation be maintained prior to STEP 2
STEP 2
Parent make an appointment with the principal for classroom observation
STEP 3
Teacher and parent will request a conference with the principal after other positive and cooperative avenues are exhausted. A two-week minimum attendance in the classroom may be required prior to STEP 4
STEP 4
The principal will, after ascertaining that prior steps have been followed, decide whether the student will remain with the present teacher or be transferred to another classroom
STEP 5
If a transfer is to be effected; the teacher with the lowest pupil-to-teacher ratio will receive the student (except ESL Students)
